Your Manager is a Gen-Human who goes by the name “Rick Dickman”. He’s a corporate manager who’d brown nosing his way up and
sees this team as a tool toward advancement. He manages a dozen entry level teams and has seen a dozen more teams come &
go…only two of which actually progressed beyond “entry level”.
Entry level means that the team has survived less than 10 successful missions.
Mr.Dickman is a hands-off manager who sees his job as briefing the team, arranging their transport and submitting any requisition
requests distributing their pay and skimming his cut.
This will be a “Hit ‘em & Forget ‘em” team that will be inserted and then extracted and then put on the shelf until the next mission.
Most of the missions that the team will be assigned will be “straight up fights” out in the fringes, far away from reporters and civilization.
While stealth and/or subtlety may be needed for some missions, the team members are not spies or detectives. The corporate term for
this type of team is RESS – Rescue, Extraction, Sabotage and Strike.
To start you are all Rookie-Grunt-Privets; which means that you have a 6yr contract that starts at 30k/yr (3k/mo) plus bonuses. It is up to
the team to decide who’s in “command”. The team leader will be given the rank of “Acting Corporal” until such time as he has earned
the actual rank of corporal or higher. The team leader gets the honor of being the one who interfaces with Mr. Dickman weather it’s
because the team did good, screwed up or just has a new assignment. The team must also agree that their team leader has the right to
distribute work assignments as he sees fit. And the team leader can be replaced if a majority of the team agrees on a replacement.
Your team will always be on the move. Your initial issue was shipped in a case that is affectionately called a Steamer Trunk…it takes up
a little more space than you do and will be your “apartment” for as long as you are under your current contract. It will be your storage
locker and your bed, just lay it down, unroll your sleeping matt and sleeping bag and you have a bed.
You also have an SSDC issued credit/debit card…as a debit card it has your 35k signing bonus plus your first month’s salary of 3K…as
a credit card you will be able to borrow up to 1yr salary @ 20% simple interest. 5% of the outstanding balance will be taken out of the
debit account each month.
Okay – go spend your bonus and as much of your 1st year’s salary as you care to.
